We live in a world where we do not value our displacement as much as we should. Yet being able to move means freedom, an opportunity not all of us are lucky enough to have. Choosing your destination, getting away, deciding your future, means having a choice. These choices are at the foundation of our emancipation. The health crisis has given us striking proof of this. I now invite you to look at the desert where nothing grows. The desert of Mafraq and its Syrian refugee camp: Zaatari.
